Training

Everyone Has Skill Gaps

There are Times When We All Need to Deepen Our Skills.

Leaders, employees, and supervisors all need training to address areas where they simply haven’t yet but the knowledge and behaviours they need to perform their best.

Effective training needs to be aligned to the specific needs of both the organization and the individual — that’s core to our approach.

Just sending someone on a course isn’t going to get you what you need.

You need to deliver the exact training that is required to the right person at the right time.

You Need More Than Training

Training on its own just isn’t meeting the needs of today’s labour market.

With more people changing jobs than ever before, the competition for talent continues to heat up. After compensation, professional development and growth opportunities are front of mind for top talent.

They don’t just want training, they want to grow. They want to demonstrate the full breadth of what they’re capable of. And that requires a different approach.

Build Your Team to Build your Business

Done right, Professional Development serves both employee and employer. It’s more than a perk or a carrot—it strengthens productivity and deepens alignment throughout the organization.

Our Legacy Program brings a blend of Training and Coaching to support the growth of your team. It not only provides your team with the knowledge they need, but also the coaching to apply this knowledge effectively, leading to increased productivity and alignment within your organization.

Legacy ensures your team is working on the right things in the right way. It also echos the coaching you’re receiving.

As you elevate your performance and leadership, Legacy ensures those same core concepts are expanded throughout your organization. You’ll be speaking the same language, using the same tools, and building a stronger organization.

what you need, when you need it

No training curriculum can anticipate what your team will need to focus on and improve in 6 months or a year from now. Effective professional development needs to be highly relevant and actionable now.

Building a High-Performance Team

This training course is designed to help team members understand their role and what they can do to build a culture and level of teamwork that drives success within the organization. Each module provides opportunities for personal growth and team development.

Each training session is two hours in length.

  • The Five Behaviours of a High-Performance Team – Overview—A productive, high-functioning team is critical to an organization’s success. They perform faster, make better decisions, tap into the skills and opinions of all members and avoid wasting time on things that tear them apart. This session provides an overview of the Five behaviours of a cohesive team and where the team’s strengths are based on their assessment.
  • The Importance of Trust—Members of great teams trust one another on a fundamental, emotional level, and they are comfortable being vulnerable with each other about their weaknesses, mistakes, fears, and behaviours. They get to a point at which they can be completely open with one another, without filters. Using the Five Behaviours Model, participants will learn how their different behavioural styles affect their ability to trust one another and what they can do to develop a deeper sense of trust.
  • Removing Barriers to Trust—Since trust is foundational to a team’s performance, identifying and removing barriers to trust is essential. This session explores classic trust inhibitors on teams and ways to overcome them. Participants will be encouraged to explore these barriers and identify where they are present in their current team environment.
  • Mastering Conflict—Members of teams who trust one another are not afraid to engage in conflict around ideas that are key to the organization’s success. They do not hesitate to disagree with, challenge, and question each other, all in the spirit of finding the best answers, discovering the truth, and making great decisions. Using the Five Behaviours Model, participants will explore how well they function in this behaviour and learn principles for handling conflict better.
  • Productive Conflict—This session builds on the previous one. It is designed to increase self-awareness around conflict behaviours and helps participants effectively respond to the uncomfortable and unavoidable challenges of workplace conflict. Rather than focus on a step-by-step process for conflict resolution, this session combines the personalized insights of personality models with the proven science of cognitive-behavioural theory to help participants recognize and transform their destructive habits into more productive responses. The result is improved workplace relationships that drive results.
  • Deepening Commitment—“If team members don’t weigh in, they won’t buy in.” Teams that engage in conflict around ideas are able to gain commitment to decisions, even when various members of the team initially disagree. That is because they ensure that all opinions and ideas are put on the table and considered, giving confidence to team members that no stone has been left unturned. This session explores the issue of commitment and provides participants with principles they can deploy right away to help their team perform better.
  • Building Accountability—Teams that gain commitment to decisions and standards of performance do not hesitate to hold one another accountable for adhering to those decisions and standards. What’s more, they don’t rely on the team leader as the primary source of accountability. This session explores the fundamentals of team accountability and offers guidelines for participants to help them raise the standard on their team.
  • Driving Results—Team members who trust one another, engage in conflict around ideas, gain commitment to decisions, and hold one another accountable are more likely to set aside their individual needs and agendas and focus on achieving collective results. They do not give in to the temptations to place their departments, career aspirations, or ego-driven status ahead of the collective results that define team success. Participants will learn to apply the principles they have learned so far to improve their overall performance.
  • The Ideal Team Player – Overview—This session explores three crucial characteristics found in ideal team players and why they are critical for a group’s success. The training will cover why hunger, heart, and people-smarts are key qualities that each team member should embrace and how they affect the success of the organization.
  • Ideal Team Player—Deep Dive. Building on the previous session, participants will explore the Ideal Team Player model more deeply and learn their strengths and areas of improvement to become an ideal team player. They will also learn how to support one another in their growth to be the best team member possible.
  • Agile Emotional Intelligence—By combining the insights personality/behavioural models with active emotional intelligence development, participants will discover an agile approach to workplace interactions and learn to navigate outside their comfort zone, empowering them to meet the demands of any situation.
  • The Evolution of a Team—Forming a team takes time, and members often go through recognizable stages as they evolve from being a collection of strangers to a united group with common goals. Bruce Tuckman’s Forming, Storming, Norming, and Performing model describes these stages. Participants will explore these stages of team development and learn practical strategies to help them grow as individuals and as a team

A Note About Our Training Services

Rhapsody Strategies has a mature training practice that runs separately from our consulting services. The training that we provide is designed to support specific learning outcomes that are unique to each training program.

In the course of accomplishing the learning outcomes, we provide a range of educational materials including worksheets, white papers, presentations and other related documentation. The learning path that we use in our training follows a progressive sequence so that each learning builds on the next.

We commonly make use of case studies and real-life scenarios with our clients in order to help them understand how apply the core learning outcomes. The approach we use is fundamentally the same whether provided in a group on one-to-one.

Rhapsody’s consulting services are designed to serve leaders and organizations that are seeking specific operational support. This could include instances when our team members are actively delivering business services on behalf of our clients. For us, creating a strategic plan, writing a business plan, or implementing a marketing plan for the client, would constitute examples of consulting services.

For clarity, Rhapsody Strategies does not provide any business consulting services to trainees. Instead, our focus is on providing clients with skills, concepts, and knowledge to deliver business services themselves. For instance, to continue one of our examples above, we would not be “creating a strategic plan”, we would be training clients to develop the skills to create and implement the plan themselves.
